Current Events Assignment


Instructions: Watch, read or listen to the news 16 times during the Summer break for 30 minutes each time. Potential news sources are listed at the bottom of this sheet. When you watch, listen or read fill out a sheet of paper with the following information:

Summary: (Three sentence summary of one of the news events for that 30 minute session)

You need 16 news write-ups for the summer in order to get a grade for this assignment.

Summary:

Governor Shumlin signed a bill into law yesterday which
will prohibit the use of cell phones while driving. The governor
had opposed this bill in the past, but decided to sign it because
of overwhelming support in the legislature. The new law will
go into effect in October.
